Privacy policy

YardCrew is built so that your work stays on your computer. This page explains what the YardCrew app and the yardcrew.io website do with data. The operator is Niv Asayag, the maker of YardCrew.

The short version

  • YardCrew has no user accounts and no YardCrew servers that receive your work.
  • The app sends no telemetry, analytics or crash reports to YardCrew.
  • To do tasks, the app sends prompts, relevant files, tool results and screenshots to the AI provider you connect (OpenAI, through your ChatGPT plan and the official Codex runtime). That provider’s privacy policy and terms apply to that data.
  • The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.

The YardCrew app

Workers, memory, skills, task history, schedules and files are stored in local folders on your computer (Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/YardCrew; Windows: %APPDATA%\YardCrew). You can edit, forget or export memory in the app, and delete everything by deleting that folder.

Signing in to ChatGPT happens through OpenAI’s official Codex sign-in. YardCrew does not read, copy or store your password or access token. Each worker’s browser uses its own profile, separate from your personal browser, and passwords you type during a take-over are not written to task transcripts.

Diagnostics (Settings → Diagnostics → Copy) are redacted and are only shared if you paste them somewhere yourself. Exports leave out credentials, cookies and approvals.

The website

yardcrew.io is a static site hosted on Heroku (Salesforce). Like any web server, the hosting provider processes technical request data (IP address, user agent, requested page, time) to deliver the site and keep it secure, and keeps it in short-lived operational logs. We do not use this data to identify or profile visitors, and we do not sell or share it.

Installers are served from GitHub (a Microsoft company), which processes the same kind of request data under the GitHub Privacy Statement. We see only aggregate download counts. We do not ask for your name or email to download.

Email

If you email us, we use your message only to reply and to improve YardCrew, and we delete it on request.

Your rights and contact

You can ask what data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing to hello@yardcrew.io. Since the app keeps your work on your own computer, in most cases the answer is that we hold none.

We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date above.
